Have Unions Become Money Pots For Political Gain?

I heard the commercials on the radio in the car a few days ago saying that even though the strike was over everyone needs to stop shopping there to support the employees. My 8-year-old then said that if everyone stops shopping there the stores won’t need all those workers and they won’t have jobs anymore. Even a child can recognize that basic concept.

I used to have a job that was unionized. The leaders always pushed for things that didn’t truly benefit the members and they were constantly telling us who and what to vote for politically and what candidates to donate money to. They also wanted us to commit a percentage of our pay to their political fund, on top of the dues we were already required to pay, so they could donate to their preferred candidates.
